Damn...the summer is really coming to an end. Today, I have to go into the classroom and see what things I will be needing for my school year to begin. I am a little concerned about everything (okay, I'm stressing). I just hope I have a better year than I did last year. Either way, because I am going in today, I had to make sure I woke early to get to the gym before going. Thanks to the craziness of my neighbours (who woke me up at about 1:15 with all their talking and laughing) waking up early wasn't too much of a problem.
BREAKFAST: 1/2 a croissant (I wanted a full one but when I looked at the calorie count, I decided it wasn't a good idea. So, I compromised and had 1/2), 1 piece Swiss cheese, DanActive, water
SNACK: handful of almonds, water
LUNCH: mama burger, some fries, root beer (I know, not good...but when it was 5 hours since I last ate, I needed to eat something...FAST! I will try to pre-plan for tomorrow.)
DINNER: 1-1/2 c. pasta with tomato sauce, 12 almonds, water; tea with milk
Exercise: 30 min. circuit training (CURVES)

OMG!!!! I know, it's a stupid way to start the entry, but I don't know what else to say. Today, I went to lunch with a friend and went to a restaurant we often would frequent (both before I went on my diet and during). It was as I was eating my lunch today that I began to realize just how much my diet eating has changed. The sad thing is, it used to be much better (while I actually WAS dieting...not this farce I've been trying to convince myself of). What's the proof? Before dieting, I could eat more than one bowl of "unlimited salad", along with a full plate of meal, and probably a mini loaf of bread to myself - with butter. While I was ACTUALLY dieting, I changed the salad to soup (figuring it has fewer calories), allowed myself, maybe 2 slices of bread, but no more than half a loaf, then had HALF of my pasta entree - but made sure to eat all meat (especially since I went with lower calorie shrimp or chicken). Today is a totally different story. I went with the higher calorie option (salad) - although stopping myself at 1 bowl. I had 2-3 pieces of bread with butter, and I almost all of my pasta. I also just realized how much carbs I am actually eating. I NEED to get refocused.
BREAKFAST: toasted tomato sandwich on w.w. bread with margarine and miracle whip, water
SNACK: 6 almonds
LUNCH: house salad, bowtie pasta with shrimp and snowpeas, water
DINNER: 3/4 c. pasta with tomato sauce, 3 oz. steak, water; slice of chocolate cake, espresso coffee, shot of chocolate mudslide, water
Exercise: does walking about 25 min. from car to restaurant (round-trip) count?

Weigh-in: 173.5 lbs. Should I be surprised??? I am really getting to the point where I will be frustrated enough to throw in the towel...and I DON'T WANT THAT!!!!! I am actually looking forward to getting back to school. Maybe then I won't have to worry about eating out so much and things can get back to "normal".
Either way, I was NOT able to work out today because of the craziness of the day. I received a call from Carolin at 7am (a time, she is often asleep). We decided to get together for breakfast. Then, when I got home, we got straight to work on cookies (thanks Moki). After that, it was time to go to the appointment with the flourist, then back home and then time to get ready for the evening before Andrew came. (We had a pub pre-openning to go to, then to a wedding to watch a DJ that will be at our wedding). And, because I straightened my hair last night - something I don't do often but takes a bit of time - I will not be working out Sunday (in the morning, at least) so that I can maintain the hair a bit longer. (Yes, I do realize that sounds like a STUPID excuse).
BREAKFAST: 1 egg, 3 pieces of bacon, 1 piece of cinnamon brioche french toast, 1 c. variety of fruit, water, tea with milk
SNACK: some roasted potatoes, pickings of cookies made, water
LUNCH: 4 oz. chicken, 3/4 c. roasted potatoes, 1/2 c. coleslaw, water
DINNER: 3/4 c. rice, chicken curry, house salad, water, pomegranate margarita
Exercise: none :(

I really didn't think I'd be able to get a workout in today as I had to go with mom to her retirement party at work and she didn't get out of the bedroom (i.e. my workout room) until 8:30...making it too close a time to workout and then get ready for downtown. When we got home, however, I forced myself to workout (I think I was motivated by all the crap I had eaten at mom's party...I felt I had no other choice BUT to workout).
BREAKFAST: toasted tomato sandwich with margarine & mayo, 1/2 fig, water
SNACK: 12 almonds

SNACK: small London fog latte (1/2 sweet, skim milk), water
Exercise: 35 min. cardio (Power90)

I gotta say, getting up early isn't a problem...trying to get motivated to go to the gym, for some reason, is becoming one. I really want to continue with the Curves at least twice a week (last week, I didn't reach that goal). But this morning, I was basically arguing with myself as to whether or not I should go. Instead, I made myself do the Power90 workout with the hopes I will motivate myself to go to Curves tomorrow. Why am I losing my drive? It's not like I don't have a target...I AM getting married in less than 3 months time...shouldn't that be motivation enough?

Weigh-in: 173 lbs I have to say, this is very disappointing as about 3 months ago, I was saying I was 10 lbs lighter... I would like to say it happened over-night, but it really didn't and I shouldn't be surprised. I think what's messing me up is that I am beginning to feel better in my jeans (which, I admit, were feeling a little tight), but that isn't reflected on the numbers on the scale. I think what's also frustrating me is that the exercise doesn't seem to be helping. I know, I haven't exactly been eating the best, but I thought the exercise should also help to counter-act that...right? That said, I am beginning to wonder how much more I would weigh if I wasn't working out...and I think that scares me more. I REALLY do need to make more of a commitment to staying focused on my eating, I just feel trapped in a weird cycle. I NEED TO STAY FOCUSED! I NEED TO MAKE A COMMITMENT BECAUSE FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION!!!! (help)

YAY!!!!!!!TGIF!!!!!!! Started off this morning by getting blood work done then off to work for 8:30. Seriously can not wait for today to be done!!!!!!!! Finally got our car lastnight, its sooooo pretty haha. I drove to Port Perry and then dad drove home. OMG Port Perry is soooooo far but, well worth it to save the taxes. Lets just say, I am quite exhausted this morning. Derwin and I have been on the go ever since Sian's wedding and really need to stop. Derwin has been having far too many seizures and I am just exhausted. I'm starting to feel the tightness and anxiousness again :-( Next week, I am for sure starting to working out again to get back into shape.

No surprise...today with all it's craziness, I wasn't able to get up to work out. At Staples for teacher appreciation day, then went to get license renewed, along with my plates. Then on to grocery store to pick up some items for mom...and all before 10:30 AM. After that, it was meeting up with Andrew and getting our vaccinations for our trip(s) - which took us 2.5 hours!!!! Lunch is a mess because of it (you've been warned), then on to get our marriage license (YAY!!! It only took 5 min!!!!). Next on to meeting Teresa with new child and having her and her family meet Andrew. Leaving there, we came home for a quick dinner, then out to get something for mom and dad and then some "down time" at the theatre to watch "Ted". BUSY day!

I gotta say (and I know I'm saying this a lot lately) but it is getting tougher to motivate myself to do my workout. I almost decided not to work out today as I had some crappy sleep (again) last night. However, I realized tomorrow will be the harder day to work out (especially since I have to me at Staples tomorrow for 8am - teacher appreciation day, then go and run errands all day tomorrow). So, instead, I compromised. I did a 20 min. cardio workout so that I can then move on with my day. I can spare those 20 min, right?
BREAKFAST: bowl of cereal with skim milk, water, 1 chocolate macaroon
SNACK: 10 almonds, 1 mini mint-chocolate bar
LUNCH: 1/4 chicken white with fries and mini greek garden salad, 1/2 lemon meringue pie, water
DINNER: 3 oz. veal, 5 pieces of breaded Sicilian zucchini, 1/2 c. mashed potatoes, water; 1 c. chocolate mudslide, tea with milk
Exercise: 20 min. turbo charge cardio (FIRM)

OK....so I haven't worked out in a month. I really need to get back on the bandwagon and start working out again. Hopefully, I can start tomorrow with the Jillian Michaels 90 day body revolution. I have to definitely tweek my nutrition and include daily workouts. No more sitting on my ass thinking that it will magically happen.

WARNING!!! WARNING!!! I am NOT in a good head-space today. I don't quite know what it is, but I feel like I have a defeatist attitude today. I woke up this morning and tried to get out of bed...not as energized today - maybe making up for lack of sleep. Almost didn't go to gym today "just because" but I didn't allow myself to stay home. Got to gym and spent an hour talking with one of the girls who is going through a frustrating time right now. She's trying to get back into the dating game and is getting frustrated with the results. We swapped stories but mostly listened to her vent. It's just kind of funny that I spoke to her that long, then worked out in half the time. Got home to shower then eat breakfast at NOON!!! This is a crazy time to eat. I was hoping just to go straight to lunch with sister instead of eating ...but that didn't work out. All I want to do now is sleep. I feel fat in these jeans I'm wearing (although I will admit they have felt tighter). Man, can this all be PMS related? No idea...but I really don't feel like I can push through this today. It just sucks! All the effort I've put into myself and I can't even claim to be down 50 lbs anymore with the number I saw Saturday. And, yes, I know that maintaining will be difficult and yes I need to keep an eye on what I'm eating, but you'd think with all the exercise it would even out, right? I'm just...AAAARRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!

Weigh-in: 173 lbs...again!!!!
I am getting SO f'ing frustrated with this. I understand that my choices of eating haven't exactly been the best, but with my daily workouts (especially the harder ones I've been doing) shouldn't that account for something? The strange thing is, I feel like my clothes had been fitting me better. Maybe it's just water-retention from all the food I ate last night. Maybe it's because of my "time of the month"...I don't know...but those all feel like excuses. I have to keep reminding myself, "I CAN do this. Failure is NOT an option." I gotta say, it's harder to remember though.
BREAKFAST: 1 w.w. English muffin, 1 tsp. margarine, 1 tsp. mayo, tomato with some salt, swiss cheese, DanActive yogurt, water; coconut jam tart (mini)
SNACK: peanut butter cupcake, tea with milk (BIG mistake)
LUNCH: do cookies and mini-cupcakes count???; piece of swiss cheese, water, vodka based cooler (1/2 c.)
DINNER: house salad, cheese tortellini, small piece of vanilla cake with cream, water, 1 glass red house wine, 2 glasses of champagne (thank you Andrew)
Exercise: Today I WAS going to go to the gym, but as I woke up extremely early, a lot of it due to sweating, I decided that I wasn't going to go out of the house to workout today. That said, I also knew I wanted TO workout but decided I wanted purely cardio. This is why I chose to do the 40 minute cardio party workout (FIRM).

I still have to get used to writing August... Oh well. Talking about cars, it was a little scary driving home last night and having the car showing no signs of moving as it should with my foot on the gas, then hearing a popping sound and having smoke come out the back of the car temporarily. This is why I had to get up early, but forgo my morning exercises for going to the dealership. That said, I ate a fatty lunch (but yummy burger) and got a milkshake from McDs afterwards. Because of that, and the oncoming dinner, I made sure to do the Power90 workout in the mid afternoon. I am about to go for a shower but thought I should update now.

OMG...I am exhausted and all this car shopping is stressing me out lol. Dad and Derwin love the Passat even though I thought we weren't going to go for it. I have never seen dad so excited about something. He looks like a little kid in a candy store when he's in the car. Hopefully, the guys will come down a bit in price because we'd really like the car. The trade in price for our car they're offering us is a joke. We'll have to see what happens.

Ok...so we loved the Passat lastnight. After going home and doing some research, Derwin is now a little worried about getting it. 1st, its a 4 yr old car that the warrenty just ran out, the gas tank is twice the size of our current car and only takes premium gas. 2nd, he's worried that if something does go wrong with the Turbo in the car then the maintenance on the car is extremely expensive. 3rd, the car saleman is offering $2000 less for the trade in of our car compared to the other VW dealship we went to. Either way, we have to go back and get the deposit refunded for what we put on the Passat. After we do that, we are going to look at some more Jetta's so hopefully, we will own a new Jetta tonight fingers crossed.

Okay, so this morning I am also guilty of not getting out of bed after the alarms (programmed and phantom - which went off at 7:50 today instead) so that I could read the next chapter (beginning of Tyrion's trial). I did, however, take a break after reading that chapter so that I could work out. Today, I chose to change the workout to the FIRM turbocharge and I'm not sure if because I've done the Power90 workout for the past couple of at home workouts, but I feel like I should have done more. Don't get me wrong, I DID sweat...I always do...I just don't know if I'm going to lose the effect of the workout if I always do the Power90. Still gotta tune up my workout routine, keeping in mind that during the school year I don't think I can get up early enough to do the workouts that I've been doing in the morning...we shall see.
BREAKFAST: 1 w.w. English muffin, 2 tsp. peanut butter, 1 tsp. jam, DanActive yogurt, water

DINNER: 3 chicken thighs, salad, water; cupcake 6 wine gums, ice-cream cake
Exercise: 20 min. turbocharge cardio workout (FIRM)

Holy crap, a new month. GRRR!!! where is my summer going?
Anyhoo, I'm quite liking my phantom alarm...so I don't want to turn off my phone to reset it...it's just weird but I feel like it's calling out to me: wake up...wake up...WAKE UP! You NEED to work out...LOL. Still, I was a little lazy getting out of bed today, not because I wasn't going to work out, but because I wanted to read more in the book, "Storm of Swords". (Ding, dong the king is dead. Which old king? Well...I'm not giving that away).
BREAKFAST: 1/2 w.w English muffin, 1/4 c. egg creations, 1 piece of Swiss Cheese, DanActive yogurt, water
LUNCH: 1 c. spaghetti with tomato and meat sauce, Parmesan cheese, water
SNACK: tea with milk, a couple cookies I've been baking, along with batter (I can't resist)
DINNER: 2 pieces w.w. dry toast, 2/3 c. baked beans, water; tea with milk, 1 almond cookie; 3 sips of beer
Exercise: 30 min. circuit training (CURVES)
